The Situation
The worker returned to heavy scaffolding work after a right below-elbow amputation and used a body-powered prosthesis for many years. He later developed carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder tears, bursitis, thoracic outlet symptoms and other upper-limb conditions. WorkSafeBC did not accept these as consequences of the original amputation.
